Whenever I travel, I don't choose a destination and you can really say that destination is choosing me. How come? I always travel there where I can find good plane ticket deal :) And that's what happened with Belgium. I found some really cheap tickets (about 25 euros for return ticket) and I just had to grab that chance.
Belgium is a really lovely country, but I have to say - also really expensive. We had luck with finding great and cheap apartment in the city center, but food, souvenirs and all the other stuff was damn expensive. But hey, you only live once :)
Do you know anything about Brussels? Brussels is the capital of Belgium and you can also say the capital of the European Union. The city is officially bilingual, so all road signs, street names, services and stuff are mostly shown in both languages: Dutch and French.
I have to be honest and say that one thing that I like the most about Brussels were the waffles. Trust me, such a good and tasty waffles you can't find anywhere! Try combination with chocolate and cherries - oh sweet heaven!
The city has some really nice parks. I wonder do people hang out here when it's warm outside? Since it was winter when we visited Belgium, I couldn't find out that!
And lets finish with some street art - I always love to see that, wherever I go!
I hope you liked the pictures and that you liked Belgium. I know I did, but more because of one other city (Bruges), that I will write about in another post! Until then - enjoy in Brussels!

DeleteI like how you've defined "the destination chooses you" with good air fare deal. It's actually very true most of our lives. You were meant to be in Belgium. Brussels is such a beautiful city and those waffles-yum.
